Great flashlight. I love it!
I first bought the Hybrid light in a combo with the PUC lantern at Costco a number of years ago. It was around $25 for the journey 300 + PUC. I never heard of them before but it seemed like a good deal for the two. Well I was so amazed at how awesome they were and for less than $30 for the pair I couldn’t believe how great a deal it was. But less than a year later and the 300 went missing! I think my roommate’s kid took it to play with and then lost it, but that’s besides the point. I was disappointed that I lost the best flashlight I ever owned, but being so cheap I decided to get another set at Costco. Of course they no longer had it. I went to every Costco and nothing, I thought it would be back in stock eventually but no luck. I didn’t know how to find it and I lost hope. Then I somehow stumbled upon an ad for the hybridlight and was so happy. They didn’t have the same bundle, but there was new models like the 600 and the seeker 300 with 3 colors. The prices were a lot higher than that costco deal but that was just lucky I got such a good deal at Costco, I wish I had bought 4 back then. If these were the same plus I got one twice as bright and one that did 3 colors I would gladly spend the $100 for the pair. We they arrived I was stoked. Just like I remember plus the brighter light of the 600 and the colors of the seeker. When I went outside to try them I felt that the beam was not as focused so I went to adjust the lens or reflector or whatever it is like on my old 300. I remember being able to twist the front part of the light so you could adjust the beam to be wider and cover a wider area close to you or twist the other way and with that bright light it was like a laser focus. But these don’t do that. I tried to twist and nothing, it won’t twist and I can’t adjust the focus of the beam. Immediately I felt let down. Did I imagine that the older light used to do that? I am almost positive I could becuase I remember walking around the old sugar mill at night and focusing that beam to see things far away or very high up and brightly lit by a tight circle. I’m so sure they used to be able to do that becuse it’s the only flashlight I had owned at the time and after I lost it I couldn’t find another like it with all the same features together In one perfect flashlight. I did get an old mag light from someone that did it but with thst wesk incandescent bulb it was not at all the same. It didn’t have the solar charging and it couldn’t be used as a battery to charge other usb devices. It was lame compared to my old journey 300 that I paid so little for, am I crazy or did it used to have that feature? And if it did why doesn’t it now? Feeling so dissatisfied after all these years looking and then finding it again that it’s really a big let down so I only have 4 stars, I wonder if this will even be posted because all the other reviews are all 5 stars, can’t be everyone that reviewed it at 5 stars. Now I gotta search for something else that same but also has that focus adjustment feature,, bummed.
Wish I had these during the last hurricane
Too early to tell. Wish it had a handle on it.
The Journey 600 is my third Hybrid Light. I plan on buying more. Would might great gifts.
